Course Overview

Class levels follow the scale set by the Common European Framework (CEF: A0-C2, total beginner to advanced). Upon arrival students take a level placement test and are also given an oral interview. They are then placed in a class with others of their level. The syllabus has a 12 week cycle in which a core text book is followed for a part of the class. Supplementary materials are widely used, with particular focus on Irish and authentic materials. Authentic listening material, e.g. from television, internet or radio, is encouraged in class. Language practice is in context and emphasis is placed on communicative ability. We focus on student-centred learning and employ methodologies which promote communication and practical language usage such as TBL (Task-based Learning), CLT (Communicative Language Teaching), Lexical and Functional theories.

We are a family run business and our main adult centre is situated in the very heart of Dun Laoghaire, approximately 15 minutes from Dublin City Centre and boasts many advantages.
